Sunday Lunch at the Old Crown
The Old Crown is a pub near within easy walking distance of the Town Centre and is in the area of Digbeth.
Google stated that it served one of the best Sunday Lunches in Birmingham so, being hungry, I decided to try it out.
Digbeth is an area undergoing a lot of redevelopment, and has a lot of interesting places to visit. The Old Crown is one of them.
The only Cask beer sold was Purity and I had a pint of Purity Gold.
The lunch was good, although
not, in my opinion, great. I had Sirloin (there was also Pork).
The meat was good and partly rare (which is my preference) although I found the gravy a bit glutinous, however, there was a lot of it!
The old Crown itself has a history that dates back to 1368 and is considered the oldest pub in Birmingham.
The old well shown is over 30 feet deep and thought to have been made over 1000 years ago.
